At Abrakadabra, children come with pleasure and learn while having fun. The child is at the heart of learning; they enjoy themselves and learn almost without noticing.
Language learning is carried out in a playful manner through board games, puppetry, nursery rhymes (for the youngest), songs, active gym, and storytelling.
A language sticker book showing a child's family and daily life helps children enrich their vocabulary.
For the youngest, coloring, manual activities, and playful written materials foster dialogue with parents.
Video is used as a complement to a session to discover the cultural aspects of the language.
Each celebration is also used with original activities where the child practices the language by engaging all five senses.
Workshops are held in small groups of 5 to 7 children, allowing them to repeat, speak, express themselves, and interact with the instructor. Groups are formed according to age and language level, so each child progresses at their own pace in a friendly environment. Sessions last one hour for the youngest and 1h15 for children aged 9 and above. The workshops are led by experienced, pedagogical, bilingual or native speakers.

For children who already speak English at home or have lived in an English-speaking country. This workshop focuses on the development of writing, reading, and more advanced oral expression. Children also learn through fun activities (active board games, songs, role-playing, theater…).
We use a method for bilingual children (or those who already have some knowledge) to complement games, allowing children to progress more quickly and continue their learning at home.
These workshops are led by a native English-speaking teacher who communicates exclusively in their mother tongue.

Workshops for middle and high school students are organized upon request. A group is formed from 3 teenagers. The workshop helps improve oral skills through board games, role-playing, and theater, and a program in grammar and written expression may also be provided. Participants enjoy the workshops and progress while having fun, with the aim for some teenagers to reconnect with the language and regain self-confidence.

Several studies have demonstrated the importance of introducing children to a second language from an early age. Befor the age of 3, we have exceptional auditory capacity, which diminishes with age. The earlier a child is exposed to a foreign language, the closer it is stored to the mother tongue region in the brain. So, the sooner a child is exposed to a second language (or more), the faster he or she will learn it. Parents sometimes fear that learning two languages will prevent them from fully mastering French, but rest assuredn this is not the case! Studies even show that children exposed to several languages go on to excel in their mother tongue.
